2026 marks 40 years since the People's Action Party established its Youth Wing: a platform built on the belief that young Singaporeans should have a direct hand in shaping the nation's future.
YP40 is a year-long celebration of that mission. From our founding in 1986 to our rebrand as Young PAP in 1993, and through every generation of activists since. We're honouring 40 years of youth leadership while building the next chapter together.

We believe in empowering every young person to not just dream, but to do. We have the agency to shape the Singapore we want. And we will take action to make it happen.

1986: The PAP Youth Wing is established. First Deputy PM Goh Chok Tong calls for giving young Singaporeans "a mission and a sense of purpose." BG Lee Hsien Loong chairs the Youth Committee.
1987: The Youth Wing holds its first National Convention at Singapore Conference Hall.
1993: The Youth Wing is reborn as Young PAP, with its own logo and identity. Membership age limit raised from 35 to 40. BG (NS) George Yeo defines the mission: "To help the PAP maintain its position as the mainstream political party of Singapore, by expressing the aspirations of young Singaporeans."
2026: Young PAP marks 40 years. Over four decades, we have evolved from a mechanism for youth participation into a movement that bridges grassroots activism, policy dialogue, and community leadership.
